Frequently Asked Questions
When ordering online, it is recommended that you submit your uploaded image on a transparent background and as a PNG. There are a few sites where you
can remove a background and download a finished image as a PNG, for example Remove BG. The image size can
also be increased using the slider which will increase the quality of when the image is printed on to the fabric.
If you require a logo or other artwork on your lanyard then ideally it should be set on a transparent background and submitted ideally in an Adobe
Illustrator or Photoshop file format. If you are submitting it to our team, but PDFs, PNGs and JPGs are also accepted. All images should have an original 300dpi size.
Please note: When you submit images to use, you must have the rights to reproduction of the images.
- We shall not be required to print any matter which in our opinion is or may be of an illegal or libellous nature or an infringement of the proprietary or other rights or any third party.
- The customer shall indemnify and hold We Print Gifts Ltd harmless against all claims, demands, costs, expenses (including but not limited to legal costs and disbursements), losses and
damages arising from or suffered or incurred by reason of the work it is required to produce pursuant to a customer order being or alleged to be defamatory or in breach of any copyright or trade mark.
Not to worry! If you require a specific font that is not listed on our webpage please contact us and we may be able to locate the font in our wider selection offline. If we do not have the font at all
you can send us it in a true type font format (TTF) but this will take 24 hours to register on our system before we can proceed with the order.
We can colour your lanyard any colour that can be made up from the CMYK colour pallet or alternatively we can use a Pantone PMS CP reference. We do also have
background designs or you could use our design service for that extra special lanyard.
We print CMYK and not solid colours. If you supply us with a Pantone® / PMS colour reference we strongly advise that you use the Pantone CP reference.
This refers to a process colour rather than a solid one (A Pantone CP reference). You can find these colour references here Pantone Connect

If you then use the Colour Bridge Coated palette, we will convert the PMS CP reference into CMYK using the appropriate percentages from Pantone® and aim to match it as close as
possible within the tolerance of +/- 10% as stated in our T&C’s.
If you are setting artwork, please set the artwork using the Pantone® CP reference.
Please note: Certain colours can look very different on screen to how they look in print. Shades of burgundy, blue, purple and red are particularly affected. We are happy if
you would like us to do a test print and send it as a photo to you on email.
We are proud to have a no minimum order policy for our custom printed, 20mm wide, continuous print (type A) lanyards when you order online. Other products for minimum
order quantity can vary. Please see our instant online quote tool for more details.
We would not recommend you add keys to the trigger clip, you should use the key ring option. Keys generally should not weigh any more than 100g.
We are not able to supply lanyards without a safety breakaway. The safety breakaway is designed to stop strangulation, should the lanyard get trapped in machinery, lift doors, etc.
Once you have created your design using our online design tool, we will use this to create a continuous repeating pattern that will run your desired length of ribbon on both
sides of the fabric. Using a dye sublimation print process, your design will then be printed onto our high-quality, satin finish, recycled polyester material.
Unlike screen printing or transfer techniques, this allows you to create a full colour design and allows you to colour match the ribbon to your brand colours giving you much
more scope to be creative! If you require a specific colour please contact us with your PMS reference.
Your design is printed onto both sides of the fabric but is not aligned and print matched so that any text is readable on both sides. Due to the nature of the fabric and the
print process your design may be slightly visible through the fabric. This is especially the case on larger areas of a light colour such as white.
As soon as we have received your approved artwork and payment your order will go straight into production. It is therefore important that if you notice any errors or wish to
make any changes to your design, you notify us immediately. Unfortunately, once your order enters the batching stage we are unable to alter or cancel your order.
You can re-order a previous lanyard, ribbon, wristband, ID card and name badge design by simply clicking on the “Re-Order Previous Design” button on any of the Design Your
Own pages. You will then need to submit the order reference number from the order you wish to duplicate as well as the billing address’ postcode.
From here, you will be able to re-order the exact same design to ensure the colour, positioning and other elements of the design will remain the same or you can use the pencil
icon to add any amendments you wish to make to your original design, e.g. changing the text.
All of the lanyards we provide can be machine washed in temperatures up to 60 degrees and remain colourfast. This means they can maintain high levels of hygiene, whilst keeping
that new fresh and bright look just after being put in the wash. We would recommend that your lanyard is placed in a suitable washing bag to avoid any damage to your washing machine.
We use recycled PET fabric when producing lanyards, ribbon and wristbands. Using recycled PET means that it comes from plastic bottles which can help reduce plastic waste in the
environment making our lanyards eco-friendly and sustainable.
Did you know that our ID cards are made from biodegradable PVC? When no longer required it will decompose in a natural environment.
When designing your own lanyards, you will get a safety breakaway and a metal trigger clip included with your design at no extra cost. You can change the metal trigger clip to
another attachment which we have listed in step 4 of the design process.
If you are designing your own wristbands you will get a locking bead with each wristband. You can change this to an adjustable bead in step 4 of the design process.
Unless requested, all lanyards are made as a Type A. If you would like to change your lanyard type please get in touch.

We manufacture all our lanyards, ribbon, wristbands, ID cards and name badges ourselves in our factory based in the East Midlands and this has allowed us to become a proud Made in
Britain member. Being the manufacturer allows us to have complete control over your order so we can tailor your order just for you and provide quick updates when needed.
You can upload the images via our website as you do your design, however if you would like to check its suitability please send your artwork to
firstname.lastname@example.org. Once we have checked the artwork someone from our design department will contact you to let you know if it useable for lanyard printing.
We don’t charge to prepare artwork as long as you exceeded 25 lanyards.
For small orders our shipping fees start at £2.55. We offer several shipping options at checkout and the shipping fees are calculated based on package weight, delivery address and
service selected. You will be shown all the shipping options and prices available for your order at checkout.
We offer several production options when you buy our lanyards.
- EXPRESS PRODUCTION SERVICE
2-Day – We can offer an express 2-day production service. Your lanyards will be despatched within 2 working days of receiving proof approval or from receiving your online order.
Orders must be proof approved and cleared payment received before 11am.
- STANDARD PRODUCTION SERVICE
5-Day – Our standard production service is 5 day. Your lanyards will be despatched within 5 working days of receiving proof approval or from receiving your online order.
- BEST VALUE PRODUCTION SERVICE
10-Day / 15-Day – For large quantity orders we can offer an economy production service that offers our best value production rates. Ideal if you are not in a hurry.
Once we despatch your order, depending on your requested delivery method, you should expect to receive your order with the following time periods
- Royal Mail 24 – Aims to deliver the next working day but please allow up to 5 days.
- Royal Mail 48 – Aims to deliver within 2 to 3 working days but please allow up to 10 days.
- Royal Mail 24 Tracked – Aims to deliver the next working day with full tracking details and an option to add a nominated SafePlace or neighbour.
- Royal Mail 48 Tracked – Aims to deliver within 2 to 3 working days with full tracking details and an option to add a nominated SafePlace or neighbour.
- Royal Mail Europe – Aims to deliver within 5 working days
- Royal Mail Overseas Tracked – Depending on your country 5-7 working days
- FedEx UK Mainland – Aims to deliver the next working day
- FedEx UK Economy – Aims to deliver within 1-2 working days
- FedEx European Economy – Aims to deliver within 2-5 working days
- FedEx European Priority – Aims to deliver within 1-2 working days
- FedEx International Economy – Aims to deliver within 3-7 working days
- FedEx International Priority – Aims to deliver within 1-2 working days
We accept most major credit and debit cards as well as payments made by bank transfer.
All of our payment processing is handled by Opayo, we do not hold any of your credit or debit card details in our website database and none of
our staff have access to your credit or debit card information.

Your lanyards, ribbon, wristbands, ID cards and name badges are custom printed just for you, so we are not able to accept returns unless there is a physical fault within
the product. If a physical fault is found we are happy to replace the items without charge or should you find a defect, please let us know within 7 days of goods receipt.
If you have ordered non personalised items from us, a restocking fee of 25% of the original sale price is charged for the return. You are responsible for sending the
items back to us.
- For non-personalised items, you can cancel your order up until it has been despatched where the cancellation is free of charge. If your order has been despatched,
you will be charged a 25% restocking fee.
- For personalised items, the cancellation charge varies depending on where it is in our production system, but typically the below will apply. Production stages are
visible in View My Order page. The below charges apply to orders over 25 lanyards.
Order cancelled whilst in Proofing - £20 for 1st proof £5 for each additional design. - Exception is online orders.
Order cancelled in Batching - If there is no Batch Number allocated then as above.
Order cancelled in Batching or Transfer with a Batch Number allocated. Min £30 for orders over 25 lanyards or 30% of the order line values whichever is the GREATER amount.
Order cancelled in Printing. Min £40 for orders over 25 lanyards or 50% of the order line value whichever is the GREATER amount.
Order cancelled in Assembly but not made up as Printing above
Order cancelled and in Assembly or Despatch and made up no refund except shipping cost.
- If your order has under 25 lanyards and has a Batch number allocated then the order cannot be cancelled, but the cost of shipping fees can be refunded.
